Colbie Caillat, born on May 28, 1985, is a 38-year-old singer-songwriter from Malibu, California. Her music, which is primarily folk-pop, reflects her sunny, laid-back Californian roots.
Caillat's rise to fame began on Myspace, where she posted several unfinished tracks. Her popularity on the platform led to her becoming the number one unsigned artist for four consecutive months. This online success eventually resulted in her signing a record deal with Universal Republic and releasing her debut album, "Coco".
Her breakthrough came with her second studio album, "Breakthrough," which was released in 2009. Over the years, Caillat has won two Grammy Awards, one for Album Of The Year as a featured artist on Taylor Swift's "Fearless," and another for Best Pop Collaboration.
In recent years, Caillat has embraced her country roots by forming a country band called Gone West and moving to Nashville. Despite her shift in genre, she continues to be recognized for her emotionally honest lyrics and unique blend of pop, folk, and country music.
