Cochise, born Terrell Anthony Cox on May 29, 1998, in Palm Beach, Florida, is a Jamaican-American rapper known for his energetic blend of trap, dancehall, and cloud rap, often featuring playful, anime-referencing lyrics delivered in a distinctive high-pitched voice. Raised in Palm Bay by Jamaican parents, Cochise grew up immersed in reggae and church music before turning to rap in high school, adopting his stage name from a character in the film "The Warriors". He gained early attention on SoundCloud and broke through with viral singles like "Hatchback" and "Red Head" in 2020, leading to a deal with Columbia Records and the release of his debut album, "Benbow Crescent," in 2021. His collaboration with $not on "Tell Em" reached number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum, cementing his place in the rap scene. Cochise's music stands out for its carefree, eclectic style, strong Caribbean influences, and a love for anime, especially "One Piece," making him a unique and influential voice among the new generation of hip-hop artists.
