Christian Alicea is a Puerto Rican singer born in Lares in 1996, recognized for his innovative fusion of salsa and urbano genres. Raised in a musical family and inspired early by his percussionist father, Alicea began performing with his father's band as a teenager before briefly working as a fireman. Initially pursuing reggaeton in Medellín, he soon embraced his salsa roots, developing a style that draws from traditional tropical music while incorporating modern urban rhythms. Alicea made his breakthrough with the singles "Vuelve" and "Cobarde," both featured on his 2023 debut album "Yo," which includes collaborations with Latin music luminaries like J Alvarez and DJ Nelson. Today, he is celebrated as part of salsa's new wave, blending genres and connecting with audiences across generations through energetic performances and his strong Latin identity.
