Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band formed in 1999 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, by lead vocalist and guitarist Benjamin Burnley. Initially gaining attention with their debut album Saturate in 2002, the band achieved significant commercial success with subsequent releases, including We Are Not Alone (2004) and Phobia (2006), which solidified their place in the alternative metal genre. Known for their emotionally charged lyrics and heavy sound, Breaking Benjamin has faced various lineup changes over the years, with Burnley remaining the consistent driving force behind the band's creative direction. After a hiatus in 2010 due to Burnley's health issues, they returned in 2015 with a new lineup and the album Dark Before Dawn, marking a successful comeback that reestablished them in the rock scene. Their music continues to resonate with fans, blending elements of post-grunge and alternative metal while exploring themes of struggle and resilience.
