Stella Rose Bennett, known professionally as BENEE, is a New Zealand singer and songwriter from Auckland who rose to international fame with her 2019 single "Supalonely," which went viral on TikTok and YouTube. She began her solo career in 2017 under the name Bene, releasing the single "Tough Guy," and gained local recognition with her 2018 hit "Soaked," which achieved double-platinum status in New Zealand. BENEE's debut EP, Fire on Marzz, was released in 2019, followed by Stella & Steve, which featured "Supalonely" and charted internationally. Her debut album, Hey U X, arrived in November 2020, and she has since continued to release music and tour globally, earning multiple awards including Single of the Year, Best Solo Artist, and Best Pop Artist at the New Zealand Music Awards in both 2019 and 2020. Known for her quirky, heartfelt lyrics and genre-blending alt-pop sound, BENEE has become a defining voice of her generation.
