BEL, whose real name is Isabel Whelan, is an indie pop and alternative music artist based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from the small town of Clovis, California, she is known for her unique blend of indie, folk, and pop influences, creating a dreamy and nostalgic sound. BEL's music is characterized by its honesty and attention to detail, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Mazzy Star. After a successful 2021, she released her sophomore EP, "Jet Lag," in 2022, featuring collaborations with artists such as girlhouse and Boyish. The EP received significant support from platforms like Sirius XM and Spotify, and BEL was highlighted on several "Artists to Watch" lists for 2023. Throughout 2023, she expanded her presence by performing at festivals and touring in support of other artists, including a trip to the UK and Europe. Her latest EP, "Read the Room," released in November 2023, includes collaborations with producers like Sean Silverman and Day Wave, and has been well-received, with the lead single "Are You Okay?" reaching #1 on SiriusXMU. BEL supported Cold War Kids and BAILEN in March 2024.
