Ayoni Thompson, known mononymously as Ayoni, is a Bajan singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, born in 1998 or 1999. She moved to Miami as a child and has lived in various countries, including Singapore and Indonesia, which has shaped her diverse musical influences. Ayoni began her musical journey in church choirs and honed her skills in songwriting and instrumentation. She attended the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where she studied popular music performance.

Ayoni's music is characterized by soaring pop and R&B vocal stylings, and she has independently released multiple projects, including her EPs Iridescent (2019) and The Vision (2022). Her singles, such as "Unmoved (A Black Woman Truth)" and "Purpose," have garnered critical acclaim, leading to features in prominent publications like Essence and The Fader. In 2023, she made her film debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in the documentary Uncharted, produced by Alicia Keys.
