Ari Lennox, born Courtney Shanade Salter on March 26, 1991, is an American R&B singer-songwriter from Washington, D.C., known for her soulful voice and smooth blend of neo-soul and contemporary R&B. She was the first female artist signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records in 2015 and gained recognition with her EP "Pho" in 2016. Her debut studio album, "Shea Butter Baby" (2019), received critical acclaim and commercial success, featuring notable singles that helped solidify her position in modern R&B. Lennox has also contributed to Dreamville's collaborative projects and her 2021 single "Pressure" marked her first Billboard Hot 100 entry, followed by her second album "Age/Sex/Location" in 2022, further expanding her influence in the genre.
