Anna Shoemaker is a Philadelphia-born indie-pop singer-songwriter now based in Brooklyn (with recent time in Los Angeles), who first blew up as a SoundCloud sensation around 2016-2018 with a viral mashup of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” and Chance the Rapper's “Cocoa Butter Kisses,” landing a deal with Steve Madden’s 5Towns Records. She followed with her debut EP EastSide (2018, produced by GRAMMY-nominated JT Daly), sophomore EP Everything Is Embarrassing (2020), and debut album Everything Is Fine (I’m Only on Fire), evolving into her 2025 sophomore LP Someone Should Stop Her—a folk-pop pivot blending alt-pop production, intoxicating melodies, and brutally honest lyrics on heartbreak, self-doubt, young adulthood, and growth, earning "Brooklyn’s own Olivia Rodrigo" buzz from NYLON. A multi-instrumentalist shaped by Philly open mics, coffee shop gigs, and bar shows through high school/college, she’s toured with Aidan Bissett and Mallrat, interned at WXPN dreaming of stages like TLA, and draws from life’s raw monologues for textured, millennial anthems like “What Am I Doing to Me,” “Liquor Store,” and “Back Again.”
