Ama Lou, born Ama Louisa John on May 9, 1998, in London, England, is a classically trained singer-songwriter known for her soulful R&B and alternative pop sound. She began writing music at age 11 and debuted with the single "TBC" in 2016, gaining major attention when Drake praised it on Instagram during her support slot on Jorja Smith's 2018 tour, even citing her as an influence on his album Scorpion. Signing with Interscope Records in 2019, she released her debut album I Came Home Late in 2023 and followed with the 2025 single "My Girl" from an upcoming project, blending introspective lyrics with modern production.
