Aluna Francis, known mononymously as Aluna, is a Wales-born, Los Angeles-based musician who initially gained fame as one half of the electronic duo AlunaGeorge alongside producer George Reid. The duo, known for their innovative blend of R&B, electronic, and pop music, released critically acclaimed albums such as Body Music and I Remember. In 2020, Aluna embarked on a solo career, releasing her debut album Renaissance, which allowed her to explore her creative impulses independently. Her music often highlights the contributions of Black artists to dance and electronic music, and she has been an advocate for recognizing the genre's Black roots.
