Alt Blk Era is a British rock duo from Nottingham, formed in 2020, consisting of sisters Nyrobi and Chaya Beckett-Messam. The band emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially uploading covers to YouTube before developing their own genre-defying sound that mixes rock and metal with drum and bass, dance, trap, and pop influences. They released their debut EP Freak Show in 2023 and their first full-length album Rave Immortal in 2025 on Earache Records, which topped the UK Rock and Metal Albums chart. Recognized for their powerful vocals and energetic performances, they have gained acclaim performing at major festivals like Glastonbury and Download, and won the 2025 MOBO Award for Best Alternative Music Act. Their music explores personal and social themes, blending intensity with a monochrome gothic Harajuku visual style.
