Alok is a globally renowned Brazilian DJ, record producer, and songwriter, celebrated for his infectious blend of electronic dance music, house, and Brazilian bass. Born Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo in 1991 in Goiânia, Brazil, he was introduced to electronic music at an early age by his parents, both pioneering DJs in the country’s underground scene. Alok rose to international prominence with the 2016 hit single “Hear Me Now,” which amassed hundreds of millions of streams and established him as a leading figure in the global EDM landscape. Known for his energetic live performances and collaborations with artists such as Dua Lipa, John Legend, and Steve Aoki, Alok has consistently ranked among the world’s top DJs in the DJ Mag Top 100 list. He is also recognized for his philanthropic work, founding the Alok Institute to support social and environmental causes in Brazil. As of 2025, Alok continues to release chart-topping singles, headline major festivals worldwide, and push the boundaries of dance music with his innovative sound and global influence.
