Ally Evenson is a Detroit-based indie-rock singer-songwriter known for her emotionally honest lyrics and soulful vocals, blending folk rock with introspective themes of relationships, mental health, and personal growth. Raised in Fort Gratiot, Michigan, she began vocal lessons at age four and started writing songs with her father by her teens. After studying vocal performance at the Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME), she released her debut EP Not So Pretty in 2020, which reflects her journey through internal struggles and self-acceptance. Influenced by artists like Lucy Dacus, Mitski, Elliott Smith, and Radiohead, Evenson’s music has evolved from focusing on relationships to broader life experiences. She has gained recognition for tracks such as “Bite My Tongue,” “Porch Light,” and “Good Morning, Al,” and continues to build her career with upcoming releases and tours, including performances alongside Band of Horses.
