Ally Evenson is an American indie-pop and alt-folk singer-songwriter and guitarist raised in Fort Gratiot, Michigan, and now based in Detroit. Known for her candid, emotionally layered songwriting, Evenson began taking vocal lessons at age four, writing music with her father, and performing in her teens. She honed her craft at the Detroit Institute of Music Education and gained early recognition through contributions to local compilation albums before making an impression with her debut EP, Not So Pretty, in 2020. Drawing influences from artists like Radiohead and Joni Mitchell, Evenson is celebrated for her powerful vocals and honest lyrics, tackling themes of self-worth, relationships, and vulnerability through songs like “I Can’t Feel (My Body)” and “Bite My Tongue”. She has continued her rise with a year-long residency at Assemble Sound, released her acclaimed EP In My Dreams, You Laugh At Me in 2023, and followed up with the full-length BLUE SUPER LOVE in 2024, further cementing her reputation as a bold new voice in the indie scene.
