Alex Lambert (born December 10, 1990) is an American soul-country singer-songwriter from North Richland Hills, Texas, best known as a semi-finalist on season 9 of American Idol in 2010, where his soulful performances of songs like "Everybody Knows" by John Legend earned praise before a shocking elimination in the Top 16. Influenced by his grandfather—a country musician who worked with Conway Twitty and Willie Nelson—alongside artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, and Bill Withers, Lambert began playing guitar at age eight or nine and writing songs by his teens, later gaining songwriting credits for X Factor finalist Chris Rene and Carly Rae Jepsen. After years as a Nashville songwriter and performer, he signed with Big Loud Texas in January 2026, discovered by co-founder Miranda Lambert, blending classic country storytelling with R&B and pop elements in his timeless soul sound.
