5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is an Australian pop rock/pop punk band formed in Sydney in 2011. The group consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. They initially gained attention by posting covers on YouTube before rising to international fame as the opening act for One Direction's "Take Me Home" tour in 2013. Their self-titled debut album released in 2014 topped charts in multiple countries, featuring hits like "She Looks So Perfect." Since then, 5SOS has evolved their sound across albums such as "Sounds Good Feels Good" (2015), "Youngblood" (2018), and "Calm" (2020), blending pop, rock, and punk influences and achieving global success with a dedicated fanbase and numerous awards.
