49 Winchester is an acclaimed alternative country band from Castlewood, Virginia, comprising Isaac Gibson, Bus Shelton, Chase Chafin, Noah Patrick, Tim Hall, and Justin Louthian. Formed by high school friends in the Appalachian backwoods, the group built a reputation for soulful, gritty songwriting and energetic live performances that blend Southern rock with vulnerable country storytelling. After self-releasing three albums, 49 Winchester signed with New West Records and released their widely praised 2022 album, Fortune Favors the Bold, followed by Leavin' This Holler in August 2024, produced with Stewart Myers and featuring collaborations with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Maggie Antone. In November 2025, the band signed a major deal with MCA Records via Lucille Records, announcing a studio cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” as their major label debut and beginning work with renowned producer Dave Cobb on new material for 2026. Their international tours, festival appearances, and successful run opening for acts like Tyler Childers and Luke Combs have solidified 49 Winchester’s reputation as “country music’s buzziest band,” while their expanding sound continues to earn critical acclaim and a devoted, growing fanbase.
