Låpsley, born Holly Lapsley Fletcher on August 7, 1996, in Southport, England, is an acclaimed English singer, songwriter, musician, and producer known for her introspective electronic pop blending minimalism, ambient sounds, and emotionally raw lyrics. Rising to prominence as a teenager in the mid-2010s, she self-released her debut EP Monday on SoundCloud in 2013–2014, which garnered hundreds of thousands of plays and won her the "One to Watch" GIT Award; this led to signing with XL Recordings, a BBC Sound of 2015 longlist nod, and her breakthrough debut album Long Way Home (2016), which charted at No. 32 in the UK and earned widespread critical praise for its sparse production and themes of heartbreak. Transitioning to independent releases after leaving the label, she has since issued albums like Through Water (2020), Cautionary Tales of Youth (2023), and I'm a Hurricane I'm a Woman in Love (2025), plus the 2024 EP A Guilty Heart Can Never Rest, while performing at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Coachella, and contributing to soundtracks for films like American Honey.
