by ROSTR

Kings of Leon signed with Capitol Records.

Kings of Leon are managed by Full Stop Management, booked by WME/Primary Talent & published by BMG/Combustion Music/BMG Chrysalis.

Kings of Leon, an American rock band born in Oklahoma and founded in Nashville, was formed in 1999 by the Followill family members: brothers Caleb (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Nathan (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Jared (bass guitar, keyboard, backing vocals), and their cousin Matthew (lead guitar, backing vocals). The band's music initially drew heavily from Southern rock and blues influences, but over time, it evolved into a more alternative, arena rock sound. Kings of Leon gained early success in the United Kingdom, where they enjoyed several Top 40 singles and won two BRIT Awards in 2008. Their albums consistently performed well on the UK Albums Chart, with their third album, "Because of the Times," reaching number one. The release of their fourth album, "Only by the Night," in September 2008, marked a significant breakthrough in the United States, featuring hit singles like "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" that topped the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. This album became their first Platinum-selling album in the U.S. and was the best-selling album of 2008 in Australia.

The band's subsequent albums, including "Come Around Sundown" (2010), "Mechanical Bull" (2013), "WALLS" (2016), and "When You See Yourself" (2021), have continued to showcase their musical evolution and versatility. Kings of Leon have received 12 Grammy Award nominations and have won 4 times, underscoring their impact on the rock music scene. Their music has sold over 21 million albums and 38 million singles worldwide, making them one of the most successful rock bands of their generation. Despite changes in their musical style over the years, Kings of Leon have maintained a strong fan base and continue to be a significant force in the music industry, known for their anthemic rock sound and compelling live performances.
