Today we're rolling out a much needed refresh of ROSTR Charts.

The new charts are easier to navigate, faster and (we think) look a lot better. The rebuild also killed a very stubborn bug that was causing charts to not load for some customers (sincere apologies for that). The updates are available to all users on both desktop and mobile web.

Some history on ROSTR Charts…

We've always used analytics to help us understand how people are using ROSTR - how often people return, which features they use, which profiles are most popular. A few years back we started noticing industry trends started to show up in that data… an artist profile which had a massive spike in interest (turned out they were shopping for new management), a newly launched agency consistently being one of the most viewed profiles after a slew of under-the-radar but buzzy industry pick-ups.

Even though we were still really small at the time, we realized that what people looked at on ROSTR could be an effective proxy for what the industry was paying attention to. So we quickly built a basic charts feature with two main types of charts:

  1. Most Viewed Charts which highlight the artists, people, and companies that have attracted the highest number of unique profile visitors over the past 30 days. These tend to be slower moving and bias towards the biggest, most influential profiles.

  2. Trending Charts which highlight artists, people, and companies that have experienced significant spikes in interest over the past week. These are based on an algorithm we developed which tries to identify where a profile is getting an unusually high amount of interest (think anything Oasis related in the last week since they announced their reunion).

Fast forward to now and charts have become one of the most popular features on ROSTR (and on our IG). We regularly see artists spiking on ROSTR Charts way ahead of when they start spiking IRL (i.e. for fans). They've become a source to discover buzzy new companies and to identify rising stars in the agency and management world.

Plus, with ROSTR now being used by tens of thousands of professionals every year the data behind the charts has become even more impactful.

We have plans to make charts even more useful as well as start to use the data from charts across the platform. More on that soon. In the meantime, check out the new charts by hitting the button below.
